Mastering This Moment

This painting was inspired by learning to “be with” those moments in life that are difficult. By staying present and not resisting, we can use these problematic times to become masters at achieving balance and peace no matter what.

“He could feel his knees shake, his stomach tight with fear. Elephant was very nervous, he had been here before, but never this high. The more he fretted the worse he felt. The only way to get through this was to be very present, to feel the rope under his foot every step. Time passed. Elephant suddenly realized he was no longer anxious. He could actually be in this moment, be with the fear, and he would be okay. This moment too would pass, blue sky was ahead.”
